Late Night with the Devil sets up the film as a 1970s documentary. It gives you the backstory of late-night host, Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchain). His show Night Owls with Jack Delroy is in direct competition with the legendary Johnny Carson Tonight Show. At one point, Jack is on top of the world.
